Such a deep, impactful message for our society. I've always thought in the exact same way. Back then when I was in my middle school, it was a government ran school ofcourse as I belong to a middle class family, there were approximately 1 Computer for everything 4/5 students in our Computer lab. And the teachers always seemed to neglect our education. There , the one who was good at it, the one who was enlightened with the knowledge of computers, always had the chance to use it. Forget about computers, Our whole family had only one Nokia 1600 till I was in class 9th when my grandfather bought me a smartphone. So I didn't even touch a keyboard until this year when I built my own PC. I don't know about privileges, Races or Genders, I solely think Education should always be free and equal for each and every soul on Earth, Where our Governments have been a Monumental failure. Thank You for such wonderful content, Dhruv. I wish You a Happy Bengali New Year!

This is not an eye opening video it's very tough to generate salaries by 1st of every month for every employee without discrimination for company and give exceptional quality of lifestyle to its employees throughout the world. Yes even generated Dhirubhai, JRD, Ratan sir , Azim Premji those who have built exceptional business in India, unlike the singhals, Kejriwals who only focus on looting banks.

I acknowledge my privilege, I was born in a family of working parents, it gave me huge advantage. My father was an airline man, it also gave me early exposure of foreign countries. I always remember this. That is why I try to give it back to my country. My dad always told me that you are a privileged kid of the developing countries like Bangladesh. Not everybody gets the same opportunities the way you got. So try to return the debt of your country. After finishing PhD at 31, that is why I returned to Bangladesh.

I'm so glad that someone is finally talking about this. This is also true about almost all other billionaires and famous personalities. Some had educated parents if not wealthy, some had successful surroundings if not the support of the family. It is sad to see Young people beating themselves up everyday when they fail to set the similar examples.

I'm a CA aspirant, I have completed foundation, Intermediate exams and now I'm doing Articleship. I have many privileges, one of the most important is my younger sister. Because of her I used to study without worrying about my parents and home, she took all the responsibilities to her shoulders. Took care of me like her child, she became my moral support too. But that privilege ended last Sunday as she died accidentally in a lake in front of my eyes, I don't know whether I can pass my CA final without her. Atlast I like to say please acknowledge your privileges when it is still present for you.

I was reading about this few years back.
Bill Gates was born exactly at the right place, to the right parents and in the right era. There were hundreds of other intelligent Americans who passed SAT exams almost as good as Bill Gates but they were not that lucky to be born in such special conditions.
Nevertheless Bill Gates should still be given the credit.
Luck matters in life and there are million of examples for that.

(ii) There exist atleast three points that are not on the same line.
Do these postulates contain any undefined terms? Are these postulates consistent? Do they follow from Euclid’s postulates? Explain.
    Solution:
Yes, these postulates contain undefined terms such as ‘Point and Line’. Also, these postulates are consistent because they deal with two different situations as
    (i) says that given two points A and B, there is a point C lying on the line in between them. Whereas

So rightly put. Privileges are not something that should be snatched from someone but one should acknowledge the privileges around him and make the best use of it. And also about how, still many stereotypes exist at the base level and just one or two examples doesn't completely change the scenario but they are just a small step towards the change. Thankyou.

Very informative video. I have worked in Eureka Forbes since 1998 and I too had some privileges like I joined an Ex IAF officer who took the Franchisee of Eureka Forbes in Pathankot. Had he not opened this business I would not have joined. Secondly I had the privilege of a supportive Dad who always stood by me during my tough times. Thirdly, I was in a town which is surrounded by the Army and It helped me to introduce and sell my brands in a more profitable manner. Fourth, PATHANKOT has the adjoining areas like Dalhousie and Dharamshala the two famous hill stations offering a great tourism business where I could go and sell my products in a big number and make some very close contacts with some influential persons. Five, hotel industry, Famous Boarding schools like DPS, SACRED HEART and a big Army presence including retired defence officers who crave our products like anything, made it easy for me to increase my Sales exponentially.

Men's and white men's were privileged and now to fix the problem they became the most unprivileged people. In India also the same thing to give women's equality men's are facing inequality 😅. The only solution to this problem is to change ourselves from our heart it can't be fixed by any laws or by hating eachother

Two clear components of this video:
    1. The systematic account of Microsoft journey - fabulous job Dhruv
    2. Talking about privileges' as 'dark side' of someone's life - little disappointing, in fact your first work that disappoints.
Let me elaborate, general tendency is that family privileges spoil the kids, this might have happened with Gates, but no, he managed to maneuver through the life events assuming these privileges as 'resources'. That is his metal. We all have choice - take privileges as luxury or as resources. Good luck.

Yeah its always like that. When u get success. Then you will never be able to get the idea of luck factor. I recently saw a short of Suresh Raina emphasizing on luck factor. I have been a great fan of Rohit Sharma. He was my fav player since he was in Deccan chargers. And since then I saw his bad luck in comparison with Kohli. He was not chosen in WC 2011 due to injury. After many years even though he was chose he was played below not as an opener or one down. Then He was not considered for test cricket for a very long time. While on the other hand Kohli got the third position as soon as shehwag was dropped. And then given opportunity to play in test cricket too. This is luck. But Rohit also showed that you should keep on working hard even if everything is against you. One day you will get something. That's what life is. It's the journey not the destination.

Hi, you failed to mention two very important factors that have made Microsoft what it is today. First, when IBM drew up the contract with the then-fledgling Microsoft for MS-DOS, they thought the world-wide market for personal computers was limited to 1000. So they didn't bother buying QDOS outright, choosing to rent it instead. This gave MicroSoft a crucial foothold. Also, shockingly, Gary Kildall, who at that time had a fully operational operating system (CP/M) and was the first choice of IBM for acquiring an operating system, treated the IBM executives - at that time the gods of the industry - shabbily. It is said he so regretted it later that he became an alcoholic and died after a pub brawl.
I think if IBM had bought MS-DOS outright, or if Gary Kildall had treated the IBM executives with dignity and respect, the software industry might have taken an entirely different course! Maybe in a parallel world, in another dimension perhaps, that is exactly what happened!😂

I am working in an IT company but when i talk to people from rural areas, they are not aware of softwares but they have enthusiasm. You are right awareness and accessibility are equally important.

These type of videos are actual therapy and motivation. We need more people like Dhruv who can tell it like it is in the real world. I think it's best to use whatever privilege you may have to it's max potential without thinking of getting the exact outcome as these eminent personalities. For eg, I am professional dancer only because I could go on and stick with it for long without worrying too much about finances. But I've had my own shortcomings as well. In any way, I do try my best to help others who don't come from the same background.
Anyway, keep up the good work! Always have enjoyed your content for its sheer honesty.

A huge factor for my success is my access to one of the best schools in my city. This was possible due to my parent's efforts to prepare me for the admission. The other part of this factor is that it was a good school run by Christian missionaries. I was given fair and high quality education, despite of my religion (I'm Muslim). I am really am grateful to the Jesuit Society for making it possible for non Christan students to get education is their fine schools.
There's much more, but this on is worth sharing.

I wouldn't say that he was previledge to reach his. I would rather call plus points on every step of his success. He was born with that talent and followed his passion till he could make it success. So he is Bill gates today

Yes the video is true.. but being privileged and still having talent to think and start their own also in itself a reason of appreciation..as many are privileged but nothing they have to grow..
Anyway i struggled a lot got this Govt officer because of my talent. We never had money for any coaching classes, not even to purchase books. But i still find myself privileged because my parents were well educated, modern and open minded. My mother worked as journalist in mumbai small magazine, dad had a business which had no good income.. mom doesn't use to get payment on time but because of all this she insisted us to study in convent English medium school. Couldn't pay its fees.. always use to request father(principal) to waive off the fees. And he did. But English didn't help me in getting this Govt job as its a state Govt job.. but yes it does help me in many other things and confidence. So much of struggle and still achieved all this.. me and my sister.. proud of it.. yet i feel i was privileged in many aspects.. as compared to rural children..
